Certificate of Achievement
Program Details
The Glendale Community College Paramedic Program is constructed to prepare students and success in the workplace. Student experiences would be in many areas, from emergency rooms, labor and delivery settings to internships with fire departments. Students in the program would gain knowledge of the paramedic profession, be proficient in basic and advanced level emergency skills, and understand disease processes as the basis for decision making. The program promotes integration of the paramedic skills set, with competence in communication, mathematics, and problem-solving. Entry into the program requires a candidate to hold an active California Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) card and a current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) Card. Students who complete the program receive a Course Completion Certificate from the college and will be eligible to take the NREMT paramedic licensing exam. Upon passing the exam, the student may apply for the California State Certification at the Paramedic level. All courses used to satisfy the major must be completed with a grade of "C" or better.
